it was really nice getting all those messages and seeing how everybody feels about this ^^ thank you for respoding ♡
while exo were asked who would be their ideal female type from their members, yixing said in this translated vers “don’t misunderstand us. our team are real men”
and in this vers: he said :“Everyone, please don’t think strangely. Our team is-we’re a real man group”.
(the don’t misunderstand part i think it was said by Chen and Yixing repeated it)
What really troubles me is that everybody tries to act like they are soo open about homosexuality when honestly i bet 90% of them would freak out if they saw a gay couple make out next to them. So for me it’s not just about China and Korea.
Of course you’re right but at the same time i think fans are just expected to act that way. They start to judge and lecture when those topics are being mentioned while most of the time they aren’t really doing anything to change how homosexuality or racism is viewed in general.
We’re supposed to react against that because that’s what we’ve learned to do :/
Oh gaWd you worded this perfectly ! BLESS!
Liking exo and their music should never concern sexual preferences in the first place.
So since i completely agree with everything you said, i’ll just add PEACE GUYS OK. PEACE AND LOVE YO.
I can’t really know how many gay people exist in their countries ;;;;
What i think it’s normal for them is to talk about skin tones and being hella “manly straight men”. why?
beacuse: Where i come from for example we don’t describe someone as “a dark idol” or “a manly man” they way you can see it in korean and chinese shows ;;;;
thank you for clearing that up ^^
and i’d feel hurt too and i’ve felt many times hurt by things people say without really intending to offend me or hurt me ;;;
The other thing is that when “dramas” like that occur i’m only aware of the international fanbase freaking out??? correct me again if i’m wrong but i haven’t seen much response from the chinese or korean exo fandom to these kind of topics.
That’s also true. I mean all of us have grown up(and still grow up) in totally different cultures and different enviroments.
While having experienced and seen other things our views are bound to be different at least up to an extent.
Now this doesn’t give the right to anyone to be offensive but as you said i myself believe that Yixing didn’t mean for it to sound that bad.
