what did yixing say that it turned out '' homophobic''?

while exo were asked who would be their ideal female type from their members, yixing said in this translated vers “don’t misunderstand us. our team are real men”
and in this vers: he said :“Everyone, please don’t think strangely. Our team is-we’re a real man group”.
(the don’t misunderstand part i think it was said by Chen and Yixing repeated it)

I think only the international fanbases freak out cuz first of all, I don't think korea or china itself is totally open to gay people or some aren't okay with seeing others darker than them. Like in the states lets say, where there's legal gay marriage & things like that. It's more common. So, when international fans hear of things like them liking lighter skin tones & hear homophobic remarks, it's more them affected since there will be ppl with darker skin tones & gay as well :/. Just a thought

What really troubles me is that everybody tries to act like they are soo open about homosexuality when honestly i bet 90% of them would freak out if they saw a gay couple make out next to them. So for me it’s not just about China and Korea.
Of course you’re right but at the same time i think fans are just expected to act that way. They start to judge and lecture when those topics are being mentioned while most of the time they aren’t really doing anything to change how homosexuality or racism is viewed in general.
We’re supposed to react against that because that’s what we’ve learned to do :/

By any chance are you Chinese or korean o_o

nope i’m Greek :33

I rl can't understand fans.. on one hand they name their idol gay and turn everything into shipping and on the other hand if the idol state their sexuality or anything related to that, he becomes homophobic for not being in the patterns of the fans? As some of the fans may be offended by Lay's words,wouldn't it go the same way around when fans call their idol gay when he's actually straight or whatever his sexuality is? A vicious circle~ Can't people stop overanalyzing everything and enjoy life?

Oh gaWd you worded this perfectly ! BLESS!
Liking exo and their music should never concern sexual preferences in the first place.
So since i completely agree with everything you said, i’ll just add PEACE GUYS OK. PEACE AND LOVE YO.

匿名 asked:
I would assume it's normal for them to say things that like because there aren't many gay people in their countries??? Is that it?

I can’t really know how many gay people exist in their countries ;;;;
What i think it’s normal for them is to talk about skin tones and being hella “manly straight men”. why?
beacuse: Where i come from for example we don’t describe someone as “a dark idol” or “a manly man” they way you can see it in korean and chinese shows ;;;;

匿名 asked:
Yea having a liking to a skin tone doesn't make you racist because every one has different taste but the way it's said sometimes can hurt other people (the darker skin tone I guess). And yea luhan did say dark skin tone was bad, referring to tao's and he was like OMG what are you saying, it was some nature republic thing if I find it I will leave it here for you to see!

thank you for clearing that up ^^
and i’d feel hurt too and i’ve felt many times hurt by things people say without really intending to offend me or hurt me ;;;
The other thing is that when “dramas” like that occur i’m only aware of the international fanbase freaking out??? correct me again if i’m wrong but i haven’t seen much response from the chinese or korean exo fandom to these kind of topics.

匿名 asked:
Over there they grow up with a different view on gays and stuff because it's not really accepted so I can only imagine what they've been told and if they actually might dislike gay people but ugh idk. Just knowing lay and his idiot self I don't think he meant it to sound in a bad way. Come on guys it's lay we're talking about lol

That’s also true. I mean all of us have grown up(and still grow up) in totally different cultures and different enviroments.
While having experienced and seen other things our views are bound to be different at least up to an extent.
Now this doesn’t give the right to anyone to be offensive but as you said i myself believe that Yixing didn’t mean for it to sound that bad.
